Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How often do I need to have my system pumped?

A: We recommend having your system pumped every two to three years. If you hydraulically overload the system by using too much water at one time such as having many frequent visitors, high laundry use or other reason for added water usage, you may need to pump your tanks more frequently.

Q: Do I have to have a maintenance contract with a septic company or can I maintain my system myself?

A: Maintenance contracts are required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), and must be on file in your county. Having a professional routinely check your system ensures proper operation and protects your health and safety. If you have the proper state licensing, you can inspect your own aerobic system and report those results to your county.

Q: What do I do if an alarm light/sound comes on?

A: Check your breakers to ensure power is getting to your control panel and your aerobic system. If your breakers have not been tripped, contact us immediately.

Q: Is my septic system supposed to run all the time?

A: Yes, the air compressor is designed to run on a continuous basis. The sprinkler pump will only pump water when the tank is full. If you see the sprinklers barely working, you could have a break in the sprinkler line or the pump could be running dry.
